we needed to build something that would mechanicaly work so one thing that would allow a big amount of movement was a lever that was weighted on one end and when the pressure was released it would move causing a chain reaction.
We tested it a number of times just to see if it would do the same thing every time but it didn't so we had to fix it till it did.
We made a lot of modifications so that when we presented, we new it would work which was important.

1. The lever in the system would be the easiest mechanism to find the mechanical advantage of because all the things we need to know can be easily measured and put into an equation like the weight of the ball and the distances from the fulcrum.
2. the incline plane because the effort force is really hard to find if its being pulled by a chain.
3. the estimated force of the input would be 20 grams which counter balances the weight on one side used to pull down the chain which pulls the ball up.
4.Instead of having to hold the lever down before you let it go, it could be held down by a hook or magnet then easily released by a button or switch to start the motion.
