Project Overveiw
This project was based on the 2000 presidential election. The purpose was to determine the president by taking votes and through a system of 2 impute AND and OR gates and coming up with an outcome. If the majority voted the same than that would be the outcome but if they tied then it would go to the president to decide.
Truth Table
The number of columns corresponds with the rows by being the exponent of two, for example if there are four columns then two to the power of four is 16 which are the number of rows. When putting the ones and zeros into the table the first column is always set up with half zeros at the top and the other half are ones. The second row is set up with the one and zero pattern split into fourths. The third column is set up with a one and zero pattern split up into eighths. The forth column is set up with every other one being a one or zero. The final column is set up so that a one or a zero corresponds to the row next to it. The final column gets a 1 if the numbers follow the minterm and a 0 if they don't.
P'VST+PV'S'T+PV'ST'+PV'ST+PVS'T'+PVS'T+PVST'+PVST
This is the minterm that is created from the truth table.
Unsimplified Circuit
Simplified Circuit
bread boarded circuit
conclusion:
The point of this project was to learn how to simplify a circuit using Boolean algebra. This project also made use more familiar with buses which also help simplify the circuit.
