Research summary
I found out that triangles are the strongest shape for building a bridge. if the materials hollow then its cheaper but not as strong, so its best to mix solid and hollow materials.

Conclusion Questions
1. If there is going to be a high stress in any direction on a material then it should be a strong material with a larger cross-sectional area so that it won't break. If there's not as much stress, then money can be saved by making the material hallow or using a cheaper material.
2. The compression and tension forces can cancel out each other and create needed forces that can hold together the bridge by having certain truss structures that do so.
